Capstone Project: KIP Reading App 

Springboard is a career bootcamp program. Over the winter and spring of this year I have gained several skills in user experience design.

Most notably:

  • Generating ideas from user research
  • Conducting research interviews and card sort and usability testing
  • Translating that research into user needs, personas and MVP’s.
  • Utilized Lean UX methods
  • Present research findings and possible solutions
  • Articulate project requirements with wireframes, sketches, user/process flowcharts, and prototypes
  • Use Adobe Photoshop and XD, InVision and/or Figma to design concepts
  • Use user research results to improve upon the MVP to resolve pain points
  • Apply conceptual thinking to develop sound UX concepts, identify customer needs, task analysis, and create personas, storyboards, scenarios, and user flows
  • Effectively communicate research findings, conceptual ideas, and design rationale both verbally and visually

Legal Instruments Examiner

Present

  • April 2019, promoted to lead the examination team of 3 examiners
  • In 2016, I utilized my strong communication and presentation skills to create a presentation that has since been praised by management and executives at the Office of Tax and Revenue
  • In 2015 I lead a 2015 audit of the Recorder of Deeds deficiency lien cases. Resulting in the location of 43 unresolved debts to the ROD. This audit has served as the starting point and template for annual audits since 2015

  • Met with clients to determine design vision, scopes of the work, budgets and time frames
  • Created web and graphic design, concepts, and sample layouts based on knowledge of layout and graphic design principles

  • Raised awareness of GDI and its mission to the Washington D.C. area with social media, events and classes, as a result, we saw membership increase from just over 2,700 to 3,033 members
  • Facilitated free and affordable monthly meetups and classes for women to learn all things web, design and software development related
  • Recruited qualified teachers for both basic and advanced courses
  • Manage GDI DC’s social media accounts on Facebook and Instagram
  • Marketing our events in networking events, via meetup and social media
